NEW PLAYWRIGHTS THEATRE PHOTO GALLERIES

Over the next few months (years?) I will attempt to create photo gralleries for each of the productions we mounted at "the pits" at 1742 20th Street, The ASTA Theatre on 12th Street, and our favorite haunt, New Playwrights' Theatre at 1724 Church Street, NW - all Washington, DC.  BTW, I am typing this almost 32 years to the date since I "retired" from NPT.  We transformed the Church Street building - the former Holten Arms Girl's School Gymnasium - into a legitimate theatre in 1976.  Though NPT closed about 25 years ago, the building remains a popular performance venue for small theatre companies.  Thank you, owner Max Barry and manager, Edward McGee.

This is a scann of one of Doc Dougherty's proof sheets from the shoot for Ken Arnold's THE HOUSE OF BEDLAM.  The production featured which Fred Strother (Whiteside), Jim Brady (Ezra), Jamie McLean (Mary), Carol Ingram (Dorothy) and Molly Smith (Ulga).  It was directed by Robert Graham Small (the readings were directed by Robert Schulte)

here's a  few more pix just for fun:
